What is said

00:00:00 — Good/bad/terrible news frame; thanks for over $3,000 given to Sean in Bangladesh; Question Tuesday postponed

  • ★★★ John thanks the hundreds of Nerdfighters on six continents who have given money to Sean in Bangladesh; they have raised more than $3,000. — 00:00:00 · Nerdfighteria, Shawn Ahmed, Bangladesh
  • ★★ John says those who still want to donate can find a link in the sidebar; with Sean's help they will make many lives more awesome. — 00:00:00 · Shawn Ahmed

00:00:43 — Vow to do Question Tuesday by week's end; Paper Towns will have two covers and why; cover reveal; taxes

  • ★★★ John cannot do Question Tuesday today, thanks viewers for thousands of book questions, and vows to do it by the end of the week or be punished. — 00:00:43 · Question Tuesday, Punishment > «You have my solemn vow that I will do it by the end of the week»
  • ★★★ John's publisher has let him share the covers: Paper Towns will have two different covers with identical books inside, and readers can pick either. — 00:00:43 · Paper Towns
  • ★★★ John says a main reason for two covers is that the novel's girl character is radically misapprehended by everyone around her; the covers capture two of those misapprehensions. — 00:00:43 · Paper Towns, Margo Roth Spiegelman
  • ★★ John, nervous but liking both, reveals the covers: readers can choose yellow or blue, or order online and be surprised. — 00:01:12 · Paper Towns

00:02:10 — Comment-lottery rules for the ARC; the Yeti is sick (whispered safari); sign-off

  • ★★ John reports that the Yeti is sick and, whispering, takes Hank on a mock safari to see her asleep. (playful) — 00:02:10 · Sarah Urist Green

Humor (significant)

  • John greets the girl on the ARC cover as if she were in the room. — 00:01:41 > «Well, hello there, Margo. You're looking very cute today.»
  • John holds the ARC cover up beside his face. — 00:01:41 > «Margo, when I put myself right next to you like this, I feel like I have a very large head.»
  • John whispers a nature-documentary safari to show Hank the sick, sleeping Yeti. — 00:02:39 > «Is that not the saddest thing you've ever seen in your life?»
