August 17: Hmmm...A Secret Project?

2007-08-18 · Hank · watch on YouTube · Nerdfighteria · announcement promotion

Hank reacts to Nerdfighters licking cats and to Katherine's paw habit with Cameo, explains his full hard drive and the website problems, and asks Nerdfighters to email him about a secret project for John's upcoming birthday.

What is said

00:00:00 — Greeting; Nerdfighters licking their own cats in response; Katherine says cat licking isn't punishment for some owners and puts Cameo's paw in her mouth

  • ★★ Hank is impressed that some nerdfighters are so into Brotherhood 2.0 that they corrected John's cat-licking technique by licking cats themselves. (playful) — 00:00:00 · Nerdfighteria, Brotherhood 2.0
  • ★★ Hank reports Katherine's point that for some cat owners licking a cat isn't really a punishment; she sometimes puts Cameo's paw in her mouth. — 00:00:00 · Katherine Green, Punishment
  • ★ Hank objects that Cameo walks in the litter box ('crap sand'), yet admits her paws are very cute and fetches her to show them. (playful) — 00:00:00

00:00:40 — Litter box ('crap sand'); Hank fetches Cameo to show her paws; won't lick her, hopes never to be punished again; hard drive full with an EcoGeek video

  • ★★ Hank won't lick Cameo because he hasn't been punished, and hopes never to be punished again because John's punishment set the bar far too high. (playful) (hedged) — 00:00:40 · Punishment
  • ★★ Hank has filled his hard drive with a long video he is making for EcoGeek, so he doesn't know how he'll export today's Brotherhood 2.0 video, which he must make anyway. (playful) — 00:00:40 · EcoGeek, Brotherhood 2.0

00:01:28 — Website problems being worked on; no direct link to the resource-intensive wiki for now

  • ★★ Hank says they are working on the problems people report with the website, but he doesn't know when it will be fixed. — 00:01:28 · Brotherhood 2.0
  • ★★ Until then Hank won't link directly to the wiki, which is resource-intensive to view, though people can still work on and look at it. — 00:01:28 · Brotherhood 2.0, Brotherhood 2.0 forum

00:02:12 — John's birthday coming up: email Hank about a secret project with 'secret project' in the subject; 'viral marketing'; sign-off

  • ★★★ Noting John's birthday is coming up, Hank asks Nerdfighters who want to email him about a secret project to write to his Gmail address with 'secret project' in the subject line. — 00:02:12 · Nerdfighteria, John Green
  • ★ Hank warns that without 'secret project' in the subject an email ends up in his Gmail archive, where emails enter but can never leave. (playful) — 00:02:12
  • ★ Hank adds that it is 'about viral marketing' (what 'it' refers to is unclear). — 00:02:12
