What is said

00:00:00 — Tax day: W-2 vs 1099 forms; twelve 1099s; fishing boat proceeds and excess golden parachute payments

  • ★★ Hank says today is not a good day because it is his tax day. — 00:00:10
  • ★ Hank explains that on a wage form the taxes are already taken out, so you send it in and get money back, while the other form covers income not yet taxed. — 00:00:10
  • ★★ Hank says he used to get a W-2 and maybe a couple of 1099s; things have changed, and this year he has about twelve 1099s. — 00:00:10
  • ★★ Hank finds the 1099 categories funny: everything goes into 'other' except fishing boat proceeds, which get their own box, and excess golden parachute payments. (playful) — 00:00:40

00:01:13 — Last video more awesome; stuff on Hank's head; relief that John is better; orbital cellulitis

  • ★★ Hank is excited to hear John is feeling better and says it seems John is doing a lot better; he admits that after looking up John's disease online he was at times really worried. (hedged) — 00:01:13 · John Green
  • ★★ Hank says people don't generally die from orbital cellulitis any more: they used to, but now there is penicillin. — 00:01:13

00:01:39 — Penicillin; Hank's dorm-room office and the posters on its walls

  • ★★ Agreeing with viewers that he has good posters, Hank says he decided in college always to keep one room decorated like a dorm room: now the office where he makes the videos and works. — 00:01:39
  • ★★ Hank shows his wall: two Cowboy Bebop posters, a Stuff on My Cat poster, the pirate kitty, a world map, a map of Narnia, calendar pictures, a They Might Be Giants Flood poster, an Inuyasha poster and giant baby pictures of him and Katherine. — 00:01:39 · They Might Be Giants, Katherine Green
  • ★★ Hank shows keepsakes he wishes were on the wall: a Rancid poster, something a friend made him, the placemat from his first meal with Katherine's family, a collage from his past, Spice Girls and Babylon 5 items, and Valentine's gifts from Katherine. — 00:02:10 · Katherine Green

00:02:59 — More keepsakes; commenter Chuck's 'girly place' remark: guys welcome, pizza and beer; sign-off

  • ★★ Answering a commenter who said the channel has become 'kind of a girly place', Hank says they are not marketing specifically towards women: they are guys and would like guys to watch Brotherhood 2.0. (playful) — 00:02:59 · Brotherhood 2.0
  • ★ Hank says pizza and beer sounds great, suggests John might help with that in the next show, and hopes John will be home tomorrow eating pizza and beer. (playful) (hedged) — 00:02:59 · John Green

Humor (significant)

  • The 1099 categories: rents, royalties and 'other', where everything else goes. — 00:00:40 > «Except fishing boat proceeds.»
  • Hank says he is a big fan of the 'excess golden parachute payments' category. — 00:00:40 > «This year I didn't have any excess golden parachute payments.»
  • Right after showing baby pictures and an adorable Valentine's card from Katherine, Hank answers a commenter who says the channel has become girly. — 00:02:59 > «We're guys. And we'd like guys to watch Brotherhood 2.0.»
