Nerdfighter donations to the Uncultured Project for rural Bangladesh (2008)

project history · status: completed · last event: milestone (2009-09-28) · last mentioned: 2012-12-17

In April 2008 John asked Nerdfighters to give to Shawn Ahmed's Uncultured Project in rural Bangladesh, calling it an experiment in community rather than charity. By March 2009 they had raised thousands of dollars for rebuilding schools and water filtration, and the pond sand filter built with Save the Children in 2009 was still providing clean water years later.
