Vlogbrothers in 2012
In 2012 the channel cut to two videos a week because of John's illness and to make time for community projects, as Crash Course and SciShow launched; The Fault in Our Stars came out in January, followed by a three-week Tour de Nerdfighting. Hank argued against SOPA and introduced The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, his vlog-format adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. The brothers traded videos on gay marriage, went to VidCon in Anaheim and read Fahrenheit 451 together in the Nerdfighter Book Club. They marked the 1,000th video and $1 million from Nerdfighteria for Kiva; John opened a punishment week of daily vlogs by comparing Obama's and Romney's tax plans, and launched the sixth Project for Awesome with a case for Save the Children.
