In his second P4A meme review, Hank goes through 250 of the over 600 fan memes and artworks from the 2022 Project for Awesome in six categories, above all Crank Green (his crab persona) and John Purple (John's purple hair and pink mustache), and thanks everyone who took part.

What is said

The parts of the video and what is said in each (★ — how much it matters to the video).

00:00:00 — Hank's lingering P4A injuries and the idea of a meme review

  • ★ Hank is still recovering from the Project for Awesome: so many socks were pushed onto his hand that he got a painful ingrown hair. (playful) — 00:00:00 · Project for Awesome

00:00:29 — Categories and the 'just memes' and dinosaur memes: beans, corn dogs, balloons, Tiltify crash, Ettore

  • ★★ Hank says this year's (2022) P4A produced over 600 pieces of art and memes, which he narrowed to 250, sorted into six categories instead of last year's (2021) three. — 00:00:29 · Project for Awesome
  • ★★ Hank says Beanie Sanfurbs came back for some guest appearances but was not this year's (2022) P4A mascot, and was seen less and less as the show went on. (playful) — 00:01:27 · Beanie Sanfurbs, Project for Awesome
  • ★★★ Hank explains Crank Green: he popped a balloon whose task told him to be a crab and be good at it, so he earnestly asked everyone whether he was a good crab. (playful) — 00:02:34 · Crank Green
  • ★★ Hank explains the Banana Loca fills bananas; he used it to put wrong fillings in bananas and baked beans in a corn dog, which turned out delicious. (playful) — 00:03:54
  • ★★ Hank says he wanted his forehead on Wikipedia and someone briefly made it happen, though with the picture where a balloon task had him write 'butt' on it. (playful) — 00:03:54 · Wikipedia
  • ★★ Hank says John's big P4A moment was dyeing his hair purple, a colour chosen by his children, and his mustache pink with spray dye. (playful) — 00:05:52 · John Green, John Purple, Project for Awesome
  • ★★ Hank says Tiltify, the donation site, crashed as soon as the P4A went live, inspiring memes from people locked out for those 15 minutes. — 00:06:18 · Project for Awesome
  • ★★ Hank says Ettore from Save the Children visits every P4A stream to talk about the charity's work. — 00:07:22 · Save the Children, Project for Awesome

00:09:12 — Crank Green fan art

00:11:11 — Digital bundle credits and John Purple fan art

  • ★★ Hank says buyers of the digital download bundle get all these works labelled with their creators, since this year (2022) artists submitted them. — 00:11:11

00:13:23 — 'Other' memes: beans in a trench coat, Joe Hanson's lipstick advice, the Green brothers

  • ★ Hank says he fully believed Joe Hanson's advice on putting on lipstick blindfolded, that one should always push really hard. (playful) — 00:14:39
  • ★★ Hank says the Green brothers are a good couple of brothers and he is very happy to have this relationship in his life. — 00:15:18 · John Green

00:15:46 — Art: sticker packs, the Crank Green cake, the giraffe open mic, the P4A poetry collection

00:20:26 — Thanks to everyone who took part and sign-off

  • ★★★ Hank thanks John and everyone who took part in the P4A, however they participated, for their enthusiasm, creations, donations, videos and votes; it was what he needed. — 00:20:26 · John Green, Project for Awesome
  • ★★ Hank says meme reviews are exempt from the four-minute time limit, as established last year (2021). — 00:21:03 · Four-minute rule

In the description and comments

  • ★★★ The description says the people who make these memes are important to the feel of the P4A, which would be half as fun without them. — video description · Project for Awesome

  • His wish to have his forehead on Wikipedia came true with the wrong picture — 00:03:54

“I didn't mean for it to be the one that I had written butt on. The balloon made me do it.”

“right now, though not from being Crank, just from being Hank.”

  • Fan art turns John Purple into a ruthless villain executive — 00:12:41

“And if you give him a quarterly report that he's not happy with, you're out. Look at that man. I'm terrified.”

  • Joe Hanson's blindfolded lipstick advice — 00:14:39

“my wife says you should always push really hard. Like. Why did I think that was a real thing a person would say?”

  • A can of Heinz baked bananas, born of Hank's confusion on stream — 00:16:15

“I thought that somebody was saying that there were cans of bananas and it was literally like there was no reality to this.”

  • A line from the fan poetry collection of P4A quotes — 00:20:26

“This is what the balloon told me to do, is what I will say to my wife later tonight.”
